I bought the XLT first, then exchanged it for the LT. The LT is still
plenty big for me (6'4", trim build). I regularly wear this coat to
walk my dog in the winter. It's been good to wind chills of 30 below
zero (fahrenheit). It's long enough to keep your waist warm, but not so
long that it bunches up if you have to drive somewhere.
It's got two
pockets for your hands, a zipper pocket on the left breast exterior, a
zipper pocket on the left interior and a large pocket with a button (i
think) on the right side interior. You can't have too many pockets.
The
sleeves are long enough. This, in itself, is amazing. Tall guys, take
note. They are cuffed at the wrist so not a lot of cold air can make
it's way up, but not so hugely that you can't get gloves over them.
The
only beef I have with this coat is the hood. It's is HUGE. Huge huge.
Pull it over your head and it collapses over your face. The strings
to pull it tight, which are rather oddly situated, don't help much.
Firstly, the little spud that is supposed to keep the strings in place
after you've pulled them out don't work, so the hood doesn't actually
snug up. It's obviously been designed to have a hard-hat in it. But if
you aren't wearing a hard-hat, it's just way too big. I have actually
considered cutting the hood off of this coat to make it more practical.
I could wear a hoodie under it if it didn't have a hood (I could wear a
hoodie under it anyway, but people double-hooding looks odd to my eye).
Overall
- if your working construction or somewhere where you need to wear a
helmet or hard-hat, this coat is perfect for you. If you're just going
about your business without an extra layer around your head, you may
want to shop around some more. I probably SHOULD have sent this coat
back and kept trying to find the right coat for me, but I hate shopping
and needed a coat now.
